In 1973 Maryland, 14-year-old Dez and his younger brother Wesley move into an old farmhouse with their single mother and soon encounter its ghostly occupants. After striking a tentative truce with the house's enigmatic guardian, the brothers navigate a transformative year, forging new friendships and learning what it means to build a home.

Set in Puerto Rico, struggling college freshman Camila accidentally boards the legendary Indigo Bus on her way home for summer break. The bus transports her to a timeless town hidden in the El Yunque rainforest, where she finds work at a tienda de curiosidades and befriends the cursed and fearsome outcast, Doña Z.
